Samsung Integrates AI and Android into Its Interactive Displays
After introducing Galaxy AI to its smartphones, Samsung is now introducing generative AI to interactive displays. The business announced that Circle to Search, AI Summary, and Live Transcript—three essential capabilities we have seen in smartphones—will now be supported by its WAFX-P models.
Circle to Search operates as we know it: simply draw a circle around text or images to get search results from reliable sources instantly. Live transcripts translate spoken words into text in real time to facilitate learning for students, and AI summary simplifies post-lesson reviews for teachers.
Teachers can simplify lesson planning and students’ post-class reviews by using AI Summary, which automatically generates succinct lesson summaries.
For the purpose of helping students review and solidify their classroom lessons, Live Transcript instantly translates spoken words into text.
The service, known as Samsung AI Assistant, is accessible on educational screens that are intended to take the place of classroom whiteboards.
Advanced Technology for Smart Learning
According to Samsung Electronics’ Executive VP of the Visual Display Business, Hoon Chung, this capability is “revolutionizing” learning rather than improving it.
The 65-, 75-, and 86-inch models of the WAFX-P lineup with AI features will come with an NPU that can execute 4.8 trillion operations per second, 16 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and an unidentified octa-core CPU. The panel itself has 450 nits of maximum brightness, a built-in 4K camera for video lessons and conference calls, a microphone, and a 20-watt speaker.
The operating system on the screen is based on Android 15, and it will have some cool features like File Converter, which makes it easier to consume media on display, and Smart Note-On, which makes it simple to switch between handwriting and digital content.
In addition to being Google EDLA-certified1, the WAFX-P offers easy access to Google Classroom and Google Drive, two features that enhance the learning environment. These characteristics make Samsung’s AI Interactive Display an effective teaching aid that encourages experimentation and teamwork.
