Xiaomi YU7 SUV Spied Without Camo

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has already confirmed that the second model, the YU7, will be an SUV (which is very Ferrari Purosangue-inspired, if we may say so). Xiaomi’s SU7 has been incredibly successful; the company has delivered over 100,000 units in just a few months.

Earlier this month, the CEO shared some official images of the car, but nothing compares to seeing a prototype in person, so that’s exactly what we’re bringing you today: a YU7 has been driving around China without camouflage, available for everyone to see.

In terms of design, there is obviously nothing new here that we haven’t seen in the official photos, but it’s helpful to see how this will appear in real life rather than just press renders.

According to the report that provided us with the live images, the YU7 is expected to be officially released in June or July and is expected to cost between CNY 300,000 (€36,900) and CNY 400,000 (€49,600). The entry-level model is said to have a large battery and LiDAR, and the YU7 is marketed as a direct competitor to Tesla’s Model Y.

The new automobile has a very slim front end, a big sloping rear end, and a dynamic and clean roof line, all of which are characteristics of a coupe. The automobile shares the Xiaomi SU7’s taillight design from the back, but the overall lines are expanded because of the SUV’s larger body.

According to this time’s declaration information, the new car’s body dimensions are 4999/1996/1600 mm in length, breadth, and height, with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. A version with two motors will provide 508kW (691hp) of power and reach a top speed of 253 km/h.
