iPhone 17 Air & Samsung S25 Slim Price and Specs Leak

Today, a new story from Korea gives us additional information about the thinner high-end smartphones that Apple and Samsung are planning to ship this year.
Since the iPhone 16 Plus has been the line’s worst-selling model for years, the iPhone 17 Air will take its place. It’s interesting to note, though, that the iPhone 17 Air is now reportedly priced around the same as the iPhone 16 Plus, so you won’t actually have to spend more for its sleek design.
Regarding that, the story continues by stating that the iPhone 17 Air would have a thickness of 6.25 mm, which is thicker than what we have previously heard. In contrast, we anticipate that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will be “mid-6mm” thick, or roughly 6.5mm.
Although it won’t be available for a few months, the Slim is expected to be unveiled at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked presentation later this month. In September, Apple is expected to release the iPhone 17 Air along with the other iPhone 17 models.
Samsung S25 Slim Price
Samsung reportedly began working on the Galaxy S25 Slim quickly after learning about Apple’s intentions for the iPhone 17 Air. Compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Galaxy S25 Slim is reportedly less expensive. Therefore, it may fall in between the Galaxy S25+ and the top model in terms of price.
By altering the design of parts like the battery and camera, Samsung Electronics is thought to have decreased the overall thickness of the device. It is credited with being the first to use ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) technology, which expands the lens diameter by arranging various prisms and lenses in a traditional camera module with a periscope construction.
Samsung Electronics used ALoP technology to lower the size of the foldable telephoto camera module by 22% when compared to the current model, according to a report by IT media SamMobile.
In addition to the new foldable phone series, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6, Samsung Electronics also produced a small version of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (SE) in the second part of last year. It is now available for purchase worldwide, including in China, and is 1.5 mm thinner than the Fold 6. Compared to the current foldable phone series, Samsung Electronics set the model’s domestic release price at 2,789,000 won, which is the highest.
As stated by a smartphone industry insider, “Samsung Electronics wants to preemptively release a product with the same concept as Apple and evaluate the market’s response.” The Galaxy S25 Slim’s pricing will not be set high because its primary aim is to reply to Apple’s Air product.
