iPhone 17 Pro Camera Specs Revealed in New Leak

This year’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will allegedly share all four of their cameras (three on the rear, one on the front). According to a new leak from Digital Chat Station in China, the selfie camera will be upgraded to a 24 MP one.
There will be three cameras on the back: a 48 MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, a 48 MP ultrawide, and a 48 MP primary camera with a 1/1.3-inch type sensor.
iPhone 17 Series camera specifications
The iPhone 17 Pro series’ primary camera won’t be increased. The latest specifications include a 48Mp 1/1.3″ primary camera, a 48Mp ultra-wide angle, a 48Mp periscope 5X, GP glass plastic lenses for the main camera and telephoto, and an updated 24Mp front camera. This makes the device suitable for large-screen imagery.
It will have a slightly smaller primary camera sensor and a higher-resolution periscope telephoto camera than the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max.
All of this suggests that there won’t be many camera advancements over the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max over its predecessors, but we’re confident Apple will find a way to highlight even the smallest changes at its September launch event.
As previously rumored, Digital Chat Station adds that the current Pro prototypes feature a horizontal camera island on the back. The catch is that, according to another Weibo user, the design won’t be completed until approximately March.
Enhanced Ultra-Wide Camera
Apple is reportedly working on improving the ultra-wide camera on the iPhone 17 Pro as well. Leaks suggest that the ultra-wide lens will feature a wider aperture, allowing for better performance in low-light environments and sharper details across the entire frame. Additionally, the new ultra-wide sensor is expected to support improved macro photography, allowing users to capture stunning close-up shots with more precision and clarity.
Improved Night Mode and Computational Photography
The iPhone 17 Pro is also expected to refine its Night Mode and computational photography features. With each new iPhone, Apple has made significant strides in low-light performance, and the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to push the boundaries even further. Expect better noise reduction, improved color accuracy in dim environments, and faster capture times when shooting in challenging lighting conditions.
