JAMB Announces Sale of 2025 Direct Entry Forms Starting March 12, 2025

Attention, students! The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application forms for the 2025 academic session will begin on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. This comes after the registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) closed on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, shared this information in a recent statement. He also revealed that over 2 million candidates registered for the 2025 UTME, while 200,115 registered for the Mock-UTME and 630 for the trial mock examination.

What is Direct Entry (DE)?

Direct Entry is for candidates who already have higher qualifications, such as diplomasA-level certificates, or degrees. If you have any of these qualifications, you can apply for Direct Entry to gain admission directly into the second year of a university program. Unlike UTME, DE candidates do not need to take the standard entrance exam.

Important Details for 2025 Direct Entry Registration

  1. Registration Start Date: March 12, 2025.
  2. Where to Register: All applications must be submitted through JAMB Professional Registration Centres (PRC). You cannot register online or at any other place.
  3. Verification of Certificates: JAMB has set up a special committee to verify all A-Level qualifications. If you submit fake certificates, you will face serious consequences, including prosecution.
  4. No Fraud Allowed: JAMB will not tolerate any form of fraud. Universities are also advised to verify candidates’ certificates before granting admission.

Why This Matters to You

JAMB is the body responsible for conducting entrance exams into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria. It was established in 1978 and ensures that the admission process is fair and transparent.

To prevent fraud, JAMB uses Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for its exams. This method is more secure, efficient, and reduces cases of malpractice. Additionally, the National Identification Number (NIN) is a mandatory requirement for UTME and DE registration to ensure accurate data.

Key Differences Between UTME and DE

  • UTME: For students who have only a secondary school certificate (WAEC, NECO, etc.).
  • DE: For students who already have higher qualifications like diplomas, NCE, or A-level certificates.
  • No Fake Documents: JAMB is serious about stopping fraud. If you submit fake certificates, you will face strict penalties, including prosecution.

How to Prepare for Direct Entry Registration

  1. Gather Your Documents: Make sure you have all your certificates and qualifications ready.
  2. Visit a JAMB PRC: Registration is only done at approved JAMB centers. Do not try to register online or at any other place.
  3. Avoid Fraud: Do not submit fake documents. JAMB will verify all credentials, and you could be prosecuted if caught.
  4. Stay Updated: Keep checking JAMB’s official website and social media pages for any updates or changes.

JAMB’s Warning Against Fraud

JAMB has warned that it will not tolerate any form of fraud during the registration process. A special committee will verify all submitted certificates, and candidates with fake documents will face prosecution. Universities have also been advised to verify candidates’ certificates before granting admission.

Final Advice for Students

If you plan to apply for Direct Entry, make sure you meet all the requirements and follow the guidelines carefully. JAMB is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent admission process, so avoid any form of malpractice.
