What is Connections?
Connections is a daily word game that has become a big hit on social media. The game was created by Wyna Liu, an associate puzzle editor at The New York Times. You can play it on your computer or phone. The goal is to group four words that share something in common.
Each puzzle has 16 words, divided into four categories. These categories can be anything—book titles, software, country names, and more. Even though some words might seem like they fit together, there’s only one correct answer for each group.
If you get all four words in a group right, those words disappear from the board. If you guess wrong, it counts as a mistake. You can make up to four mistakes before the game ends.
You can also shuffle the words on the board to make it easier to spot connections. Each group is color-coded: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
